TESTIMONY - JOE AND TAMMY HADEN - MISSIONARIES TO ZAMBIA AFRICA

Zambia, Africa is a nation of 11 million people with a life expectancy of 35 years.

It is a place of darkness where ancestor worship and witchcraft permeate the culture from the bush to the capital city, subsistence farmer to the president.

Why are there so many who do not know?

The people are very friendly, ready to hear the gospel and many are willing to receive the Lord Jesus Christ if we will tell them.

Zambia is strategically located in the center of the sub-Saharan region of Africa, giving us the opportunity to reach into the bordering countries of Angola, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Malawi, Tanzania, and the Congo.

Why are there so few going to tell them?
My wife, Tammy and I will be sent out of Decatur Baptist Church in Decatur, Alabama. Our purpose is to glorify the Lord through soul winning, discipleship, training national pastors and helping plant indigenous Bible-believing churches that will reproduce themselves.
Jesus said in John 4:35, "Say not ye, There are yet four months and then cometh harvest? Behold, I say unto you...look on the fields; for they are...already to harvest."
My name is Joe Haden and I was saved at Decatur Baptist Church on October 17, 1971 under the ministry of Lamar Ingle and was soon involved in soul winning and assisting in the sixth-grade boys Sunday School. From 1975 through 1985, I was a bus captain and Children's Church worker and in the fall of 1985, Brother Doug Ripley became our pastor, bringing with him a greater emphasis on missions and discipleship.
I became a member of the Missions Committee and was discipled by Brother Doug. My training at DBC includes Bible Institute, Discipleship Evangelism and several teacher training course and for the past 15 years, I have been teaching, discipling and training adults to serve the Lord.
My wife, Tammy was saved in November 1972 at 14 years of age, and after coming to Decatur Baptist Church was discipled in 1997. Tammy was previously involved in Mentoring Mothers Class and is still involved in discipling and teaching young mothers to be Godly encouragers for their husbands and faithful in training their children for the Lord. At this time, Tammy is teaching ladies in the 20 - 30 couples class, she is part of the Prayer Ministry and also sings in our adult choir.
There are people in every nation who are ready to hear and ready to be harvested.

We have been involved in missions trips for discipleship and evangelism to the countries of Mexico, the Philippines, Germany, Romania, Honduras, the United States and two survey trips to Zambia in 1999 for four weeks and again in 2004 for five weeks with missionaries Bobby Bonner, Bob Hayton and Steve Richards.

I retired in 1998 after 34 years of service with Monsanto Company as a mechanic and I am able to provide 60% of our needed support through my retirement income, and the remaining amount needed is for the work of ministry.

Will you go to see?
Our plan was to partner with veteran missionaries Bob Hayton and Steve Richards, but God called Brother Steve home on August 8, 2004, leaving a gap, but the work must be carried on.

The Work was started by Brother Hayton in the southern province and is spreading into the western and eastern provinces, an area of 10,000 square miles of rough bush terrain and no gospel witness.

Will you go to tell?

We will also be overseeing a project of Decatur Baptist Church to build 300 churches in three years in Zambia and neighboring countries.

Our goal is that we, along with Decatur Baptist Church, will reach the unreached and enlist them for world evangelism.

Will you labor with us to glorify our King?

We accept God's command to go into all the world, to all people, that our God will receive glory honor and praise for a diverse family of believers of every ethnic clan, language, color, tribe, and nation of His glory.

We need your prayers, will enjoy your partnership, and would love to have you come to see the field where a fruitful and bountiful harvest is taking place.

During your visit to Zambia, you will be able to visit the world-famous Victoria Falls, take and evening cruise on the Zambezi River, see African wildlife in their natural habitat, visit the bush villages of the Zambian people and participate in reaching the lost.
