Pastor of Small Groups and Children’s Ministry

Danny Holmes serves as our Pastor of Small Groups, which includes Adult Small Group and Children’s Ministry. Small Groups is the ‘Encourage’ element of our church. He was saved at a young age and always knew that God had something special planned for his life. In 1994, Danny and his wife Gail first started attending Decatur Baptist. Those early years at the church were filled with learning about God’s Word and serving others in various ministries. Between 2000-2004, he joined the staff full-time as the Children’s pastor.

Danny and his family were sent out in 2004 to pastor churches across North Alabama. He later returned to Decatur Baptist to continue the ministry that God has given him of restoring the family unit.

Danny holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of North Alabama and a Master of Arts in Biblical Studies from Louisiana Baptist University, and a Master of Business Administration from Corban University.

Danny and Gail have three children; Ty, Trent, and Tessa. Danny is a very dedicated family man and enjoys outdoor activities.
