SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENT PASTOR

Seth Keenum serves Decatur Baptist Church as the pastor to young adults. He has a vision to encourage the coming generations to see the gospel of Jesus Christ become the priority of all that they do. Seth has a passion to see believers be established in a spiritual growth process through biblical discipleship, as well as, seeing family units worship together in the way they rest, work, and play.

Seth is a lifelong native of North Alabama where he worked as business manager in the local industrial market for more than 20 years. God has used this vocational experience to guide Seth in understanding the specific challenges of setting spiritual priorities for growing families in our area. He began attending Decatur Baptist Church in 1998 where he was discipled, served, trained, and ordained to be a workman for the ministry of Jesus Christ. In 2015, Seth went out from Decatur Baptist to serve as the pastor of the church in which he was saved as a child. In 2022, God brought him back to serve on the pastoral staff at DBC.

Seth has had the joy of wearing many hats in ministry through the past 20 years, but the greatest joy is to be the husband of Nikki. Married in the year 2000, Seth and Nikki have four wonderful children, two girls Ryleigh and Mattie, and two boys Sam and Eli. There is nothing that makes him appreciate the little things in life more than daily ministering to his family.

The calling God has laid on Seth’s life is to encourage and equip the people of God to make disciples; first, in the home, then, within the church and, finally throughout the world.
